For some assignments, I'll often select snippets of your writing to feature if they are particularly well written or poignant.  I'll also clean them up before I post them if there are any errors.  So you might want to see what things I changed.  I encourage you to read and think about them.

• Lastly, my greatest strength is that I'm honest and genuine when I write. Because I am used to keeping journals, I can get very personal and passionate within the stories I'm telling. In my personal opinion, being honest is important because that is the only way to make the readers sympathize with your writing. - Sunny

• Sometimes I feel pressured by assigned essay topics; but using casual language helps me out a great deal. When I imagine myself talking with my friends about the topic, it comforts me and makes me start typing.  Picturing myself chatting with my buddies enables me to think back on some incidents of my life related to the topic. - Chonghyun

• If there is one thing to say about my style, it might be about creative theme. I learn a lot in Korean about such things as politics, economy, and philosophy, etc. Based on these contemporary topics, I try to apply them within a theme. Though I encounter difficulties translating those ideas into English, the theme and the situation (which is not strictly related with one’s English skills) is what I have confidence in.  - Paul

• Another weakness is that I never really try to revise my essay after I finish the first version. It is very ironic that I know revision is such an important factor to write a good final piece of writing; but I'm not trying. I'm just a bit too lazy to recheck whether I have made any mistakes. To improve on this, the first thing I will have to do is to be more of a hard-working writer. - Jane Park

• Here's a verse which I particularly like: "It's worthy to make people laugh as much as to make them realize a fact."  I really like to entertain others.  It's not that I'm very talented at it, but whenever I succeed, I feel great joy.  Plenty of research illustrates that smiling or laughing can make you healthy and positive. - Isabella

• In general, I like to write essays on academic topics. And in such academic essays, I try to be both intellectual and readable. This is the first paragraph of an essay I wrote about the reason to learn history: Humans must be more than naked apes. The greatest difference between us and the other animals is that we can actively gain knowledge and apply it to better our lives. If there were a tree on fire, an ape would only "see" the fierce flames and run away. However, a man goes a few steps further. He studies the fire and recognizes that it is releasing warmth.  -  Minwoo

• I try to be as creative as I can because that is the only way to cover up my weak points. Usually, I spend most of my times thinking about what to write before writing. Of course, this isn't uncommon to most people, because we all want to avoid the term "writer's block."  But I've discovered that I spend more time preparing than most other students in general. - Keeryun

• I love Severus Snape, Harry's "Potions and Defense of the Dark Arts Professor."  He loved Harry’s mother, Lily, and devoted himself to her even after her death many years ago.  I was so touched by his death that I came to wonder, ‘What would happen if those two met in heaven?’ So I started writing.  - Amy

• Tools become rusty if you don't use them for a long time, or they become sharper as you use them more and more. I think my writing is my tool, and now the tool has become dull and rusty. Therefore, my immediate goal is to raise my writing skill, to minimize my weak points, and nurture my strong points.- Juhyun
